You smile,
and the sun is jealous of your radiance.

You breath,
and the wind longs to smell as sweet.

Your countenance,
makes the angels weep in jealousy.

Your strength,
is the envy of the gods.

My good fortune,
is a loss to the heavens.

For truly,
an angel has fallen to earth.

It the friendship you give me,
That keeps us together.
Warm, caring, comforting,
There for me in laughter and sorrow.
My best friend,
forever by my side.

It’s the sound of your voice when you speak to me,
That makes me want you so.
Soft, sultry, enticing,
Wrapped in the most beautiful body imaginable.
My longing for you is undying,
An eternal flame burning in me.

It’s the way you look at me in the mornings,
That makes me love you so.
Love, respect, desire,
Through sleep’s hazy filter.
For if you can love me without thinking,
Then I know you truly love me.

We started down the road together,
It was very dark,
and We did not know the way.

All I knew was you were by my side,
walking there by me,
giving me strength go on.

There have been hardships along the way,
we faced together,
we made it through together.

Darkness envelops the road ahead,
with you by my side,
I can survive the journey.

When I look into your eyes,
I still see the wonder,
I still see the surprise,
I still see the child inside.

When I look into your eyes,
I see ageless beauty,
I see timeless wisdom,
I see boundless mirth inside.

When I look into your eyes,
I see love.

I remember the first time I saw you,
My knees grew weak,
At the sight of your face,
I could not believe,
that God had made,
something this beautiful.

I remember our first kiss,
My head grew faint,
It was enough for me,
Just to be near you,
But to touch your lips,
Was almost too much to bear.

I remember our wedding,
My mind was confused,
How could I be here,
My God, this angel before me,
Was coming to be my wife,
I see you through the clouds.

I remember last night,
My mind cannot comprehend,
Watching you play with our kids,
My angel for these many years,
Seeing your face,
My knees grew weak.

Moonlight on your lovely hair,
shines Golden in the night,
without you I am in darkness,
you fill my world with light.

I turn the corner, see you face,
it takes my breath away.
I can’t believes how beautiful you are,
how you brighten up each day.

I struggle with the words to say,
to describe my love to you,
I keep coming back to my most loving words,
when I said to you, “I do”.

Night dissolves the day
Rays kiss my lovers visage
Your love lights my world

People swirl around me,
Zombies going about their day,
Already dead,
Waiting to lie down for the final time.

The world is monochrome,
Broken only by shades of gray,
mottled oils,
smudged onto the canvas I see.

On the horizon shines a beacon or promise,
Colors strike my eyes for the first time,
I am blinded,
By the fact that I can now see.

Hope burns brightly,
Fueled by the years of my life,
seconds burn,
I am a candle in the darkness.

I run for the beacon,
I see it’s glow but can’t catch it,
Out of reach,
Onward I press longing to bask in it’s light.

I stop and turn,
Behind me stretch a row of candles,
all turning,
to see that they are someone’s beacon.

I fade back into the swirl,
I am waiting to lie down.
Already dead,
Hope is just another candle.

We are all simply farmers,
sowing seeds of love.
Some sow their seed frantically,
scattering seeds about,
hoping in vain, love will grow,
forlorn when it won’t.

Our love, carefully planted,
two farmers, one goal.
Together, working as one,
Preparing our field.
Sowing, tending, harvesting,
A labor of love.

Watching the sunset of life,
our labor not in vain,
the harvest has been gathered.
I understand now,
I wanted not the harvest,
but you by my side.
