I remember the first time I saw you,
My knees grew weak,
At the sight of your face,
I could not believe,
that God had made,
something this beautiful.

I remember our first kiss,
My head grew faint,
It was enough for me,
Just to be near you,
But to touch your lips,
Was almost too much to bear.

I remember our wedding,
My mind was confused,
How could I be here,
My God, this angel before me,
Was coming to be my wife,
I see you through the clouds.

I remember last night,
My mind cannot comprehend,
Watching you play with our kids,
My angel for these many years,
Seeing your face,
My knees grew weak.

Soft white petals
Morning sunlight on alabaster
My lover awakens

Moonlight on your lovely hair,
shines Golden in the night,
without you I am in darkness,
you fill my world with light.

I turn the corner, see you face,
it takes my breath away.
I can’t believes how beautiful you are,
how you brighten up each day.

I struggle with the words to say,
to describe my love to you,
I keep coming back to my most loving words,
when I said to you, “I do”.

Night dissolves the day
Rays kiss my lovers visage
Your love lights my world

People swirl around me,
Zombies going about their day,
Already dead,
Waiting to lie down for the final time.

The world is monochrome,
Broken only by shades of gray,
mottled oils,
smudged onto the canvas I see.

On the horizon shines a beacon or promise,
Colors strike my eyes for the first time,
I am blinded,
By the fact that I can now see.

Hope burns brightly,
Fueled by the years of my life,
seconds burn,
I am a candle in the darkness.

I run for the beacon,
I see it’s glow but can’t catch it,
Out of reach,
Onward I press longing to bask in it’s light.

I stop and turn,
Behind me stretch a row of candles,
all turning,
to see that they are someone’s beacon.

I fade back into the swirl,
I am waiting to lie down.
Already dead,
Hope is just another candle.

We are all simply farmers,
sowing seeds of love.
Some sow their seed frantically,
scattering seeds about,
hoping in vain, love will grow,
forlorn when it won’t.

Our love, carefully planted,
two farmers, one goal.
Together, working as one,
Preparing our field.
Sowing, tending, harvesting,
A labor of love.

Watching the sunset of life,
our labor not in vain,
the harvest has been gathered.
I understand now,
I wanted not the harvest,
but you by my side.

Morning’s light reveals,
the angel next to me.
Lying silent and still,
fragile yet strong.

I watch her stir,
blink her eyes and smile,
simple acts that take my breath away.
Before my eyes, she descends,
from heaven back to earth,
my companion for another day.

You see her hair is the shade of all my dreams,
her voice is a warm embrace.
Her smile is the beacon that guides me on,
and her eyes as the color of love.

Throughout my day, she’s by my side,
my angel, my vixen, my love.
Her wisdom helps guide me,
her kindness refreshes,
her presence, a light from above.

When I’m with her,
all decisions seem simple,
she filters them to black and white.
When I’m near her,
my soul is at peace,
her glow takes the edge off of life.

You see her hair is the shade of all my dreams,
her voice is a warm embrace.
Her smile is the beacon that guides me on,
and her eyes as the color of love.

Night again falls,
and as I lay by her side,
her presence lulls me to sleep.
I drift off to dream,
and smile because I know,
tomorrow, I see her again.

Dreams begin to invade my mind,
old friends, who have returned for a stay.
Each of them smiling, reminding me that,
she’s only a heartbeat away.

You see her hair is the shade of all my dreams,
her voice is a warm embrace.
Her smile is the beacon that guides me on,
and her eyes as the color of love.

She colors my world, in the color of love.

While
 the
  world
   around
  me
   is
    in
   constant
  motion,
  your
 love
  for
 me,
is the rock,
I anchor myself to.

Fall slowly creeps into my life,
Leaves turn and fall to the ground,
Discarded hopes dreams.

Winter is upon us,
Life slowly winds down another year.
Hope sleeps until the spring.

Deep inside me,
Your love courses through me,
Keeping me alive though I seem dead.
